2012-07-13 | YIDFF 2013 Preliminary Event: DDS 2012 in Yamagata!

Reimporting the popular “DDS / Yamagata in Tokyo” back to Yamagata!—we will bring to you a three day program that differs from the Tokyo version. Seven screenings of old and new films thematizing “family” chosen from International Competition will be held. We will even have a talk event with the director of last year’s festival winning film The Collaborator and His Family. Along with that, one film from each of last year’s programs, Films about Yamagata and Art Documentary Program will be screened. And there will also be screenings of the late Shindo Kaneto’s early masterpieces, Daigo Fukuryu-maru (1959) and Genbaku no ko (Children of Hiroshima; 1952), as part of a special program related YIDFF 2011 Cinema with Us program.

Each screening can be seen with one coin; only 500yen! Don’t miss out on these mini-film festivals which will help to pass the baton onto YIDFF 2013!
