Shigeko, married into a family in the printing business, once suffering beneath a patriarchal system under her husband and father-in-law, but a nuclear accident has liberated her from her family bonds. She explores her new life, while her husband wants the family to go back to the way it was before the accident. Through the demolition of their house, their difference in views about family becomes exposed.
