[Synopsis] An extraordinary butoh street performer commemorates a 30-year career with a film of his life journey.
This art documentary is a record of dance and of a journey of self-accomplishment. Produced and directed by a street performer whose career spans 30 years, the film captures the feeling of Japan’s four seasons. In Kobe, he dances in condolence for the victims of the Great Hanshin Earthquake of 1995, and performs for the spirit of his deceased mother on an isolated beach in his hometown. The film leads up to the ending, when dance and nature become one in the snow, expressing the 68 year-old performer’s state of mind.
