  • Contemplating the Future of 8mm Film
  • 21st-Century 8mm Filmmakers

Even though the manufacture of 8mm cameras ceased in the 1980s, there has been a continual stream of new filmmakers making 8mm films with secondhand cameras. Filmmakers have emerged who have deliberately chosen 8mm from the variety of imaging media, and not as a step on the path to using 16mm or 35mm. We especially want to focus on the works of young filmmakers who are particular about using 8mm despite the rise of digital video equipment in the 21st century.
