Five random entries from the director’s 2001 diary are visualized through various approaches. A somehow humorous visual essay emphasizing that time is but a collection of individual days, though each day would seem to be continuous with the next.



[Director’s Statement] Expectation that arises from ostentation, imitation, superficiality: by capturing these elements on video, I was able to create a new copy. My aim here was essentially to see whether I could “imitate” the world around me, including both myself and my past visual works.


- Nakajima Takashi

Filmmaker. Born in Tokyo in 1951. One of the founding members of Image Forum in 1977. Has served as chief editor of the Image Forum monthly magazine and program director for the Image Forum Festival. Past works include Cesna (1974) and Buried Stories (2003).
