People work in the cotton fields in the early morning mist. The sound of wind, the warbling of birds. A woman sings alone. “The desert is shrouded in fog, and life is silent, I want to get to Kandahar.” Hands move endlessly picking cotton. Sunset colors the sky bright red. “I’m so alone. The Taliban is making war.” Small children and old people keep house in silence. A melancholy longing to return to Afghanistan and memories of air raids are etched into the minds of children.
[Directors Statement] In my opinion, making short films is a new experience which is very valuable for filmmakers. The subjects of my films are based on mankind, not any tribe or nationality. This is because for me the lives of people are very important. I love making short films.
Panah Barkhouda Rezaei
Born in 1977 in Iran. Received bachelor’s degree in cinema directing. Has directed short films in various formats. |
